A Dhaka court today rejected the bail plea of Prothom Alo journalist Shamsuzzaman Shams and ordered to send him to jail in connection with a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Tofazzal Hossain passed the order after the investigation officer of the case, Inspector Abu Ansar of Ramna Model police station, produced him before the court, seeking to confine him in jail.

Advocate Abdul Moshiur Malek filed the case against Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman, journalist Shamsuzzaman, a cameraperson and some unidentified persons with Ramna Model Police station on Wednesday night.
