Journalist Mahfuz Ullah passes away

DHAKA, Veteran Journalist and columnist Mahfuz Ullah passed away today while undergoing treatment at Bumrungrad Hospital in Thailand.

He was 69, family sources said.

His (Mahfuz) daughter Nusrat Humaira informed us that doctors of the Bumrungrad Hospital confirmed about his death at 11:05 am this morning, his elder brother Professor Dr. Mahbub Ullah told BSS.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son to mourn his death.

His namazejanaza will be held after Zohr prayers at Green Road Dormitory JameMosque tomorrow.

Later, he will be buried at Mirpur martyred intellectual graveyard with the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Mahfuz Ullah had been suffering from complicated disease for a long time.

He was admitted to Square Hospital in the city on April 2 after suffering a heart attack and put on life support. Later, he was flown to Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok on an air ambulance on Apr 11 for better treatment.
