M Nuruzzaman, general secretary of Sharsha upazila unit of ruling party Awami League under Jessore district, died on Sunday. He was only 62.
Nuruzzaman, also the former senior vice-president of Benapole CandF Agent Association, breathed his last around 5am, said president of the association Shamsur Rahman.
He was survived by his wife, two sons and daughter.
The Awami League leader will be buried at his family graveyard following two namaz-e-janazas at Benapole Ballfield and Baropota Eidgah Maidan respectively.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the demise of Nuruzzaman.

She said that Awami League lost a devoted leader at his death.
She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
