Bangladesh women cricketers Jahanara Alam and Rumana Ahmed will play a private T20 league in the UAE’s Dubai.

At the “FairBreak Invitational 2022,” right-arm pacer Jahanara will represent Team Falcon and Rumana Barmy Army, said Tawhid Mahmud, manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) women’s wing.

“It’s a new opportunity for me,” Rumana told the media. “I’ve never played in such an event before.”

Both players already got no objection certificates (NOCs) from the BCB.

Rumana has played 69 T20s so far and scored 748 runs along with taking 61 wickets.

Jahanara has taken part in 71 T20s and bagged 55 wickets. She previously played in the Women’s T20 Challenge in India – which is known as IPL for women.

This is the first edition of the FairBreak Invitational which will be organised under FairBreak Global, an initiative designed to create pathways for women to have better access to opportunities, education and high-level performance roles.

In this event, 19 matches will be played among six teams during May 1-15.
