The IUT Alumni Association (IUTAA) Executive Committee handover ceremony was held recently at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Gazipur.
IUT Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam was the chief guest while Pro Vice-chancellor Dr. Omar Jah was the special guest.
Dr. Md Obaidur Rahman, Chief Election Commissioner, IUTAA Election 2022, presided over the programme.
Faculty members, the outgoing and new executive committee, the election commission, alumni, and guests attended the ceremony, said a media release on Monday.
IUTAA represents the interests of IUT graduates worldwide. This association is committed to keeping the alumni connected, getting involved, and maintaining long-lasting ‘IUTianhood’ within the alumni community living at home and abroad.
The association is continuously working to uphold the glory of IUT and the welfare of IUTians. The competitive election took place on May 21 where almost 96 percent of the members cast their votes through the electronic platform from home and abroad.
Md Shamsuddoha Russell has been elected as the president while Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan was elected as the vice president.
Other office bearers are — Moinul Momen as General Secretary, Ahmed Sarfaraz Nur as Treasurer, Fahim Ahmed as Assistant General Secretary, Chowdhury Sadid Alam as the Organising Secretary, Mahfuzul Hoq as Assistant Treasurer, Faiyaz Chowdhury as the Publication Secretary and Abul Hasnat, Hakim Dina Anjum, Dr. Iqbal Mahmud Chanchal, Mosharrof Hossain and Shakil Masud as executive members.
