Int’l Rating Chess likely to begin from May 1

The International Rating Chess tournament will likely begin from May 1 at two separate venues—BCF hall room and National Sports council— tower in the city.

Syed Shahab Uddin Shamim, general secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation ( BCF) , told BSS that the Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) is likely to organize the Rating Chess tournament from May 1-9 and they have taken all the preparation to start the meet.

Shamim said they would approach to the ministry on April 29 seeking permission to oragnise the tournament. If they ministry give the approval, then they will start the tournament from May 1. The BCF general secretary said considering the players financial need, the federation decided to organize the tournament. The prize money of the tournament is Taka five lacs and the players will be benefited at least a little before the Eid Ul-Fitr.

Replying to a question Shamim informed that nearly two hundred players are expected to take part in the tournament if they get the approval to organise the tournament.
