Ins and outs of the NCL

DHAKA The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) took several

initiatives to make the National Cricket League (NCL) competitive one as the

tournament long dubbed as picnic league.

The NCL will kick off on October 10 throughout the country in four

different venues.

A total of eight teams will participate in the event and the games will be

played under two tiers.

The BCB has raised the bar of fitness test, making 11 points mandatory in

beep test in lieu of 9. Several senior players failed to attain the mandatory

points in the beep test but they are allowed to play until unless they hit

the minimum requirement.

The BCB though didn't increase the match fee of the players, they had

increased other remunerations.

Here is the ins and outs of the 21st NCL. Tier-1 Team: Khulna, Dhaka

Division, Rangpur and Rajshahi Tier-2: Chittagong, Dhaka Metro, Sylhet and

Barishal. Team Preparation Fees: BDT 600,000 (tier-1) BDT 600,000 (tier-2)

Daily Allowance: BDT 1500 (tier-1) BDT 1500 (tier-2) Match Fees (per match):
