The 73rd founding anniversary of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) will be observed tomorrow on limited scale in view of the coronavirus outbreak.
The day is observed as ‘Engineers Day’ by IEB every year.
President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages on the occasion of the 73rd founding anniversary of IEB.
In the messages, they greeted all engineers of IEB and wished a success of the founding anniversary programme.
With the emergence of Bangladesh as an independent nation in 1971, the Institute of Engineers, Pakistan was renamed as the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, which was founded in 1948 with its Headquarters at Dhaka, now capital of Bangladesh.
IEB, the only national professional body of engineers in the country, promotes efficiency in the engineering practices and profession.
Marking the founding anniversary, IEB President Engineer Md Nurul Huda and Honorary General Secretary Md Shahadat Hossain greeted and congratulated all members of the organization.
