The Information Commission (IC) today fined a Youth Development Officer Md Ali R Reza at Jaldhaka Upazila under Nilphamari district Taka 2000 in charge of separate two cases for denying information.
He was also urged to pay Taka 2400 as compensation while Taka 1200 for each case, a press release said.
Reza was fined as Jankibala and Bharati Rani of the Upazila lodged two separate cases with IC against him after being denied to get information on training programmes, the release added.
In charge of another case the IC urged Woman Affairs Officer Md Shamim Jahid Talukder under same Upazila to pay Taka 1200 as compensation, it said.
The IC fined and urged the two officials to pay compensation after hearing on the cases, held at the IC Office in the city here.
Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Professor Dr Md Golam Rahman, Information Commissioner Nepal Chandra Sarker and Professor Dr Khurshida Begum Sayeed took part at the hearing, it added.
