In response to the devastation caused by torrential rain and monsoon floods in Bangladesh, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd has come forward to a public assistance appeal and aided relief supplies in flood-ravaged areas of Natore’s Singra upazila.
The relief program took place in the second week of the current month. Besides, an online event was held where ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Huwain Bangladesh CEO Zhang Zhengjun, among others, spoke.
The donations funded the purchase and distribution of relief items which include dry foods, Salt and Masks for 2000 families of Singra.
While addressing the virtual event, Palak stressed on standing beside needy people.
“We need to stand by our needy people in this crisis. It should be a combined effort from individuals and organizations,” he said.
He appreciated Huawei’s relief schemes, saying “for the last few years, people in Singra are getting reliefs thanks to Huawei’s efforts.”
Zhang Zhengjun described the relief program as holistic approach towards the betterment of lives in the flood-affected areas.
He also said “this includes our vision to make peoples’ lives better as a responsible corporate being.”
The flood situation deteriorated in the Singra Upazila as Atrai, Baral, Barnai, and Gurnai rivers were flowing above the danger levels in the last few weeks.
