The High Court (HC) today pardoned
superintendant of Chapainawabganj police as it let him go from a rule issued earlier for making an objectionable comment, urging people to crush robbers to death.
A High Court division bench, comprising Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah, passed the order disposing of the rule it had issued on November 27.
"He realized that his comment was not correct and offered unconditional apology before the court. So, the court pardoned him," said Barrister Shafique Ahmed, who stood for the police official before the court.
SP Mujahidul Islam also assured the court of not making such comment again.
The court on November 27 summoned him and issued a rule asking as to why it shall not initiate legal proceedings against him for making such comment.
