DHAKA, June 7, 2017 (BSS) - The High Court (HC) today issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain in four weeks as to why it shall not direct to compensate the families of the persons died and got injured in Moghbazar-Malibagh flyover accident in March.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice AKM Zahirul Haque issued the rule, asking as to why the court shall not direct to give Taka 50 lakh and 30 lakh respectively to families of persons died and got injured in the accident on March 13, 2017.
The court asked LGED secretary, its chief engineer, chief executive officers of Dhaka North and South City Corporations, officer in-charge of Ramna Police Station and managing director of Kona Construction to submit their explanations within the stipulated time.
A worker named Swapan, 40, was killed, and engineer Palash Baran Dhar, 35, and driver Nurunnabi, 40, were injured as a girder of the under-construction Moghbazar-Malibagh flyover fell on them.
