The High Court on Monday asked the Jatiya Party leader ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar to surrender before the judicial court within four weeks in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for embezzling Tk 40,643 from the state fund.

The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order after hearing a petition.

On December 6, 2021, a Dhaka court acquitted Ruhul in the case.

Later, ACC filed an appeal challenging the lower court judgment.

In 1989, the then ACC filed a graft case against the former minister for misappropriating Tk 40,643.
