Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of heroic Freedom Fighter and actor Khalekuzzaman.
In a message of condolence, the minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Khalekuzzaman passed away at his Gulshan residence this morning at the age of 72.
Dr Hasan, also the joint general secretary of Awami League, said veteran freedom fighter Khalekuzzaman had won the heart of people through his acting in stage, TV and films.
"This artiste who did his master's in the first batch of Drama and Fine Arts Department of Chattogram University will remain alive in the plays and films he acted," the minister said.
Khalekuzzaman started his career by acting in TV drama 'Sarpobhorame Rojju'. He achieved acclaim through acting in many dramas, serials.
Khalekuzzaman acted with Nayanraj Razzak and Kabori in 'Anirban' and some other films.
