Hasan asks Padma bridge conspirators to seek apology

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2017 (BSS)- Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today urged those, who had hatched conspiracies to cancel financing of the World Bank (WB) in Padma Bridge project, to seek apology before the nation.

The ruling party leader made this remark at a press conference at Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's political office at Dhanmondi here.

Dr. Hasan said it is the demand of the people that those, including founder of the Grameen Bank and Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), who were allegedly involved in the conspiracy to stop the WB financing in the Padma Bridge project, would have to seek apology.

The ruling party organized the press conference following the verdict of a case filed by the WB with a Canadian Court on the allegation of corruption conspiracy in the Padma Bridge project.

Dr. Hasan said those, who had tarnished the image of the country abroad and brought economic loss for the nation, should be brought to book.
