TANGAIL, The government from next year will procure rice directly from farmers.
Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak said this here today during a visit to flood affected areas of the district.
He said seeds and other agricultural components would be distributed among farmers to help them recovering losses caused by recent flood. Dr Razzak visited flood eroded BhuiyapurTarakandi road and Tepipara School and distributed relief among flood affected people.
Local parliament member Tanvir Hasan, deputy commissioner Shahidul Islam, Bhuiyanpur Upazila Parishad chairman Abdul Halim, local Awami League leader Jamilur Rahman Miron, UNO Jhoton Chanda and Bhuiyanpur pourasabha mayor Masudul Haque were present.
The minister said BNP is the main perpetrator behind spreading rumours across the country on Padma Bridge and child lifting.
Abdur Razzak said Awami League is facing all ill motives of BNP politically. Law enforcing agencies would take stern action against the persons to be found guilty for spreading damaging rumours, he said.
The agriculture minister said BNP would not be successful to release Khaleda Zia from jail through movement as Khaleda was sent to jail for corruption, not any political reason.
