DHAKA, June 05, 2017 (BSS) - State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki yesterday said the government will impart training to some 61,800 parents as part of raising awareness among the parents for promoting sound health of the children.
"Since 80 per cent growth of the children is completed within the period from zero to five years old ...so the parents should to be aware of their children during pregnancy," said the State Minister as the chief guest while she was inaugurating a training of 30 officials of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) at its auditorium at Kawranbazar here.
Chumki said "If we want to realize the dream of building prosperous Bangladesh then the parents should have to take care of their children from the early stage of pregnancy."
BKMEA President AKM Selim Osman MP, Women and Children Affairs Secretary Nasima Begum, Vice-Chairman of Suchana Foundation Professor Pran Gopal Datta and Additional Secretary of Women and Child Affairs Ministry Mahmuda Sharmin Benu also spoke as the special guests while Deputy Secretary of the Women and Child Affairs Ministry Begum Rayna Ahmed moderated the function.
Nasima Begum laid stress on ensuring proper care to the pregnant mothers and their abiding by certain rules to avert birth of retarded children.
