The government will give an incentive of Taka 33.20 crore to increase the cultivation and production of Aman paddy this year.
"A total of 4.90 lakh small and marginal farmers from across the country will get free seeds and fertilizers under this incentive," said an Agriculture Ministry press release here today.
Under this incentive, each farmer will get five kgs of seeds, and 10 kgs of DAP and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizers free of cost for cultivating high-yielding verity of Ropa Aman paddy on one bigha of land, it said.
The incentive will be given from the regular budget of Agriculture Ministry for agricultural rehabilitation assistance, and seed and sapling sector, the release said, adding that a government order has already been issued in this regard.
Incentive distribution activities will begin at field level soon, the release said.
