Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq yesterday said the government is very much respectful to the rules of law and conscious about the role of lawyers in establishing justice.
"If dignity of lawyers is hurt, there will be adverse impact on the rule of law. So, the government is working to maintain the lawyers' dignity," he said, adding that the government is establishing buildings for Bar Associations in different districts.
He was addressing a function of giving allotment paper of Taka 7.55 crore for setting up buildings for Bar Associations in Khulna and Begerhat districts. Begerhat District Bar Association will get Taka 4.44 crore for six-storied building while Khulna will get Taka 3.11 crore for four-storied building.
Law and Justice Division Secretary Abu Saleh Sheikh Mohammad Zahirul Haque, Joint Secretaries Bikash Kumar Saha and Golam Sarwar, leaders of Khulna and Bagerhat district Bar Associations were present on the occasion, among others.
