DHAKA, Dec 27, 2016 (BSS) -Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday said the present government is pledge-bound to make and broadcast programmes in all mass media including television by upholding the Bangalee art and culture as well as the spirit of the liberation war.
"To this end, the government has framed various policies and would take all sorts of measures for completely implementing those policies," he said while exchanging views with the Federation of Television Professionals Organization (FTPO) at the Dhanmondi Political Office of the Awami League president here this evening.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said some demands of the FTPO are related with the rules and regulations of the existing Broadcast Policy under the Information Ministry and the National Board of Revenue under the Finance Ministry.
The AL general secretary said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is always very respectful to the cultural activists and artistes and she would take necessary steps for the executing the legitimate demands of the FTPO.
Quader sought sincere cooperation and support from the cultural activists, artistes, television performers and theatre-makers for stamping out communalism and militancy from Bangladesh.
Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, AL Joint Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif, Organizing Secretaries Enamul Haque Shamim and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap were present, among others, from the Awami League side.
From the FTPO side, its Convenor Mamunur Rashid, Member Secretary Gazi Rakayet, Syed Hasan Imam, Ahsan Habib Nasim, Mujibur Rahman, Anisur Rahman Milon, Shihab Shahin, Nadia Ahmed, Feroz Khan and Tania Ahmed were present at the view exchange meeting.
