Govt is distributing Eid gifts among underprivileged people: Saber Chowdhury

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury today said the government is distributing clothes and food items so that the underprivileged people can wear new clothes and take special food items on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. 'Arrangements are being made so that they can celebrate Eid happily with their loved ones. Eid gifts are being distributed among all women, men and children,' he said while addressing an Eid gift distribution ceremony at Manda Hyder Ali School and College here. Speaking as chief guest, Saber Hossain said remarkable development has been taken place in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 'It will take some time to reap the benefits from all the ongoing developments. The government is working relentlessly to increase all kinds of opportunities for the people,' he said. The environment minister said under the directives of AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the ruling AL and its affiliated bodies are helping the underp rivileged people instead of arranging iftar parties. 'Let us all stand by commoners and make their Eid happy,' he said. Mugda Thana AL President Mosharraf Hossain Bahar, Sabujbagh Thana AL General Secretary Councilor Chitta Ranjan Das, and Councilors Shafiqul Alam Shamim and Khairuzzaman Khairul along with local AL leaders were present on the occasion. Today, Saber Hossain distributed 1,200 sarees and lungis among the poor people at Manda Haider Ali School and College, while 2,200 at Manda Panchayattola, 1,600 at Chata Mosque in Danober Gali and 500 at Hawai Gali of Goran as the Eid gifts.
