DHAKA, Jan 04, 2017 (BSS) - Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury today said the present government is exploiting Information technology (IT) for development of the agriculture.
"if the agriculture is not well founded the development of the country will be affected and that's why the government exploiting information technology for development of the agriculture," said the minister as the chief guest while inaugurating three mobile app services explored by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) held at Khamarbari here.
Access to Information (A2I) Programme of the Prime Minister's Office and the DAE jointly arranged the function.
Agriculture Secretary Mohammad Mainuddin Abdullah attended the programme as the special guest while DAE Director General (DG) M Hamidur Rahman was in the chair.
Director General of the Prime Minister's Office Sheikh Yousuf Harun and Policy Advisor of A2I Programme Anir Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.
The three new mobile apps---'Balai Nashak Nirdesona', 'Krishaker Janala' and 'Krishaker Digital Thikana'- have been developed by three Upazila Agriculture officials. These apps would provide the farmers the information regarding diseases, other problems and required solutions for farming.
Matia stressed that these mobile applications based services would have to reach at the doorsteps of the farmers as the farmers easily could solve their problems.
