DHAKA-Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu today said the present government is patronizing setting up of industries which are environment friendly and energy saving.
"The industries ministry is maintaining a 'zero pollution and zero
accident policy' to protect the environment," said Amu while speaking at the inaugural session of a conference here.
Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) and BUET's Mechanical Faculty jointly organized the event-International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science-2017-with MIST Commandant Major General Md Abul Khair in the chair. Mechanical faculty dean Brigadier General Dr Md Lutfar Rahman delivered welcome speech while Prof Stephen D. Butt presented the keynote speech.
Amu in his speech said the present government has enacted a strong law to protect the environment and at the same time it has been working to popularize the practice of green economy and green growth. He said the government has been extending support for setting up energy saving industries in the country.
