Govt enacts any law for country, not for a person: Anisul

DHAKA, Feb 4, 2017 (BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haq today said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina enacts any law for wellbeing of the country not for a person.

"Sheikh Hasina's government never enacts law centering a person, it enacts for wellbeing of the country," he told this to newsmen after a discussion at Engineers' Institution in the city, said a press release.

Debiddar Upazila Welfare Samity, Dhaka organised the discussion with president and former minister ABM Golam Mostafa in the chair.

The minister said a roundtable would be held with diasporas on citizenship law on February 9. The government would bring changes of clauses of the proposed law considering logical after hearing of the expatriate's speech.

Among others, former deputy minister for finance AFM Fakhrul Islam Munshi, chairman of Comilla Zilla Parishad Abu Taher, senior vice president of the samity Abu Bashar Bhuiyan and principal Manzurul Alam delivered speeches at the function.
