Govt committed to reach health services to peoples doorsteps: Shahriar

RAJSHAHI, April 29, 2017 (BSS)- State Minister for Foreign Affairs

Shahriar Alam said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to reach health services towards the doorsteps of people living in remote area.

He said the government is very much sincere on reaching the healthcare services towards the peoples' doorstep and the government has been working relentlessly to attain the cherished goal.

"Reactivation and revitalization of the community clinics is great

achievement of the present government," he added.

He was addressing the opening session of a two-day free of cost medical camp on Arani Monmohani High School playground under Bagha Upazila in the district yesterday as the chief guest with President of Shaheed Asad Foundation Dr Azizullah Nuruzzaman in the chair.

Mother Teresa Memorial Society organized the camp in association with Department of Fire Service and Civil Defense.

Director General of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Prof SM Wahiduzzaman, Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defence Brig Gen Ali Ahmed Khan, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Rajshahi Moazzem Hossain Bhuiyan and Civil Surgeon Dr Sonjoy Kumar Shaha also spoke.

The state minister said the government is pledged bound to building a prosperous Bangladesh through boosting production and generating employment.

He also said Bangladesh has attained remarkable success in various

development indicators. The country at present is progressing fast in every sector, especially improving foreign policy, ICT, food production, power generation and distribution, education, women empowerment, foreign remittance earning, GDP and per capita income.

Shahriar Alam said: "We've already stepped into the stair of a lower middle-income country from the lower-income nation. Bangladesh doesn't want to stay at the lower ladder... it wants to climb to the peak and we will do whatever necessary for that."

"Becoming a lower middle income country is certainly a great achievement and it makes us firmly believe that we will soon elevate to the status of middle income country," he added.

He said Bangladesh is progressing rapidly in all fronts and the government is determined to turn the country into a peaceful abode in South Asia.
