KHULNA- State Minister for Fisheries and Live Stock Narayan Chandra Chanda said the present government has been working relentlessly for equal development of all areas of the country.
"Bangladesh has become a role model for development in the international arena under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh would be turned into a middle income nation within short time if the present pace of development continues," he said.
He was addressing a view exchange meeting with local people on government development activities held at Noakhathi Bazar under Shahos Union in Dumuria upazila of the district last night.
Chaired by ex- chairman of Shahos Union Abdul Quddus, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by chairman of Sarafpur Union Parishad Sheikh Robiul Islam Robi, members of Khulna Zila parishad Sarder Abu Saleh, Shova Rani Halder and Gazi Sohel Ahmed.
The state minister said after taking power, the present government has been working in developing the country to a great extent. The development includes, construction of mosques, Madrasa, Temple, educational institutions, roads and culverts, he said.
Every household of Dumuria upazila of the district will get electricity by 2017, he said, adding that the present government has been distributing various allowances to poor and distressed people.
He, however, said the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working for establishing a hunger and poverty free society and building Bangladesh a middle income nation by 2021.
Narayan Chandra Chanda also urged the countrymen to vote AL again in upcoming general election for keeping country's development spree imbued with the spirit of Liberation War.
Earlier, the state minister visited construction works of Charcharia- Vanderpara roads and Kharshanda mosque.
