Government providing training for info leaders

The present government has been providing training to entrepreneurs of Union Digital Centers (UDCs) on writing reports and features for building them as info leaders.

The info leaders will write about the war of liberation and development activities in the rural areas.

The observations came in the opening session of a three-day training workshop titled "Report and Feature Writing and E-commerce and Outsourcing for UDC entrepreneurs" at conference hall of Deputy Commissioner here today.

Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme of ICT Division and Tathyaseba Barta Sangstha (TSB) organized the workshop. More than 100 entrepreneurs are taking part in the workshop.

Addressing as chief guest former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton depicted the importance of the month of December.

He said the Bangalees took part in the war of liberation in 1971

responding to the call of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and ultimately earned the victory in this month.

Chief Guest Liton said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared implementation of a modern knowledge based Digital Bangladesh in this month of victory in 2008. The journey towards Digital Bangladesh started in January 2009 under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Liton said the government has established 4,550 UDCs across the country aimed at reaching information and services to the doorstep of the people. About 10,000 UDC entrepreneurs are providing various services to the people of rural areas, he added.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reduced Digital divide by establishing more than 4,500 digital centers in the union parishad. The people of rural areas are enjoying IT based facilities similar to urban areas, he said.

The people will be empowered if they were provided with information of their needs. The flow of info service delivery will enhance after providing training on writing reports and features to the UDC entrepreneurs.
