Those who would intend to go to Saudi Arabia for seeking jobs will now have to pay a government-fixed cost, said Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Islam.
The minister made this remark when Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah HM AL Motairi called on him at the former's office here today.
During the meeting, they discussed different issues including Bangladeshi workers' recruitment in Saudi Arabia and delayed issuance of Saudi visas. They agreed to stop any irregularities in visa-related matters.
The Saudi ambassador said steps would be taken for issuing visa quickly by increasing manpower at Saudi Embassy here and action would be taken against those recruiting agencies allegedly involved with 'visa trading'.
