Friendship's Secondary Education Programme recently organised daylong refresher training for the classroom facilitators on 11 to 13 Oct 2016 at Friendship Centre in Gaibandha to improve their skills in conducting the classes effectively.
The secondary school teachers from Dhaka conduct classes through video lessons which are recorded and later shown to the students by classroom facilitators in Friendship's remote schools. This training was aimed to boost up the facilitators' confidence level, make them resourceful to provide students with extra support during classes. In the training, facilitators' responsibilities, orientation to operate video lessons, proper convey of video recordings and many other aspects were discussed.
Ms Zobaira Zahanara, former teacher from Scholastica, Mr Md Mostafizur Rahman from Rifles Public School, Ms Rabeya Sultana from Biam Laboratory School and Mr. Md Ziaul Hoque from Motijheel Ideal School and College visited from Dhaka and conducted the training sessions while from Friendship Programme Manager of Education sector Mr Reza Ahmed and Programme Officer of Education sector Ms Nafisa Tarannum were also present.
Friendship's Education sector commenced its secondary education under Gaibandha and Kurigram Districts in 2015 with an aim to run with computer-aided learning method, a first of its kind in the char areas in Bangladesh. Friendship has created an opportunity to access to education for secondary level's students who are unable or face difficulties to go to regular secondary schools otherwise.
A total of 11 participants took part in the training.
