Four killed in Satkhira and Jessore road accidents

DHAKA, Jan 4, 2017 (BSS) - Four people were killed in separate road accidents in Satkhira and Jessore districts early this morning.

In Satkhira, a truck driver and its helper were killed and three others injured as their truck fell into a roadside ditch at Nehalpur under Tala upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased are truck driver Rawsan Ali, 35, of Maheskura village under Aminpur upazila in Pabna district and helper Abdul Aziz, 30, hailing from Patiur in Chittagong.

Officer-in-Charge of Tala Police Station Hasan Hafijur Rahman said the accident occurred when a truck fell into the roadside ditch in the area at about 4 am as its driver lost control over the vehicle leaving the duo dead on the spot and three others workers of the truck injured.

The injured were sent to a local hospital.

In Jessore, two persons including a student were killed in separate road accidents in Sharsha and Sadar upazila early this morning.

The deceased were identified as Hadiuzzaman, 10, a student of class five and son of Saiful Hossain of North Kagojpukur area in Benapole municipality and Azom Hossain, 42, Zonal Manager of Nipa Pharma and son Abdul Majid of Kachua village in Sadar upazila.

Officer-in-charge Jessore Kotwali Model Thana Elias Hossain confirmed the matters.
