Four freedom fighters honoured in city

DHAKA, Dec 20, 2106 (BSS) - Dhaka City School yesterday honoured four veteran freedom fighters at Mukul Fous Mat at Mirpur 10 here marking the Victory Day discussion.

Dhaka City School in cooperation with Mirpur Shaheed Paribar Kollyan Samity jointly organized the programme on the occasion of 46th victory day.

Four freedom fighters who received honorary crests were Golam Mostafa, ATM Mostafa, Quamrul Hasan and MA Majid.

The freedom fighters, who took part in different front-fight during the War of Liberation in 1971, narrated their memorable stories of different incidents in an emotion chocked voice.

Principal Alamgir Hossain Helal presided over. Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Councillor Kazi Jahirul Islam Manik, general secretary of Mirpur Shaheed Paribar Kollyan Samity Fariduzzaman, treasurer Abdul Hamid, supervisor of the library at Mirpur Slaughtering Site KM Nasir Uddin, General Secretary of Dhaka-based Patuakhali Journalist Forum (PJF) Sahidul Islam Rana, National Desk Editor Zaman Chowdhury Chairman of Dhaka Metropolitan School Meer Abdul Malek and Sheikh M Shariat Ullah Wasim, among others, were present.

Later, a cultural function was also held where students of the school took part.
