The new football season 2020-21 will begin on Dec 19 through curtain-raiser meet — Federation Cup Football ’20.
The players registration and inter-club players transfer formalities of the new season will be held from Nov 1 to Dec 15.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BFF Professional Football League Committee at the federation conference room on Thursday with committee chairman and BFF Senior Vice-President Abdus Salam Murshedy in the chair.
As per the decision, every football club of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will be entitled to recruit maximum four foreign booters including one from Asia and all of them will be allowed to play together in a match for the team.
If any club wants to release any player of their previous squad, then they have to inform it by Oct 30.
Besides, the meeting advised the BPL clubs to pay minimum 35 percent of the contractual money of the players of the last season (2019-20) as signing money of the ensuing league.
The meeting also decided to finalise three to four venues for the premier league in Dhaka and nearby areas in their next meeting from initially selected six venues.
The six venues are: Bangabandhu National Stadium, Bangladesh Army Stadium, Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur, Moslehudddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Narsingdi, BKSP and Kumilla Stadium.
