Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has laid emphasis on building bridges between Bangladesh and the talented Bangladeshi young force in foreign countries, specially in the UK and engaging them for expediting development efforts in Bangladesh.
“We have to work together so that we can develop bridges and engage them in Bangladesh,” he said.
The Foreign Minister said if they visit Bangladesh, they will automatically understand what to do because they are very bright.
“They are innovative and they can help us. They would gain knowledge and at the same time it would help Bangladesh,” he said.
The Foreign Minister made the remarks while addressing a virtual discussion with the British Bangladeshi Talent Network on Saturday night.
The new generation Bangladeshi expatriates and NRBs in Great Britain have got a place with scholarships by British Government in top Universities and Colleges around the world.
The Foreign Minister said this is another milestone and achievement of Bangladeshi expatriates and NRBs abroad.
Conveying greetings to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her birthday that falls on September 28, the Foreign Minister said, “We are very lucky that she is in Bangladesh. One person can make a change and the example is Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
Dr Momen said the Prime Minister is the hope for people and she is the friend of the poor. “She has created a mindset among young people that we can win. We are a nation of victors. If we work we can win.”
Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem also spoke.
