DHAKA, April 02, 2017 (BSS)- The five-day 'IPU Fair', highlighting different development programmes, culture and heritages of Bangladesh, adjacent to the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), attracted the foreign guests and visitors joining the 136th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Conference.
The commerce ministry organised the "IPU Fair" that began on Saturday in a bid to brand all development initiatives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and to introduce those to all foreign guests in the IPU conference.
"A total of 59 stalls focusing government's different development initiatives of different sectors were set in the fair. Of those, stalls of medicine, hides, readymade garments (RMG), plastic, ornaments, tourism, tea, loom, handicrafts, jamdani saree and books are mention-able," said a spokesman of the fair told BSS.
Apart from these, some other stalls including a model of Bangladesh Primary School, pattern of community clinic, Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar (one House One Farm) and Muktijoddha Museum were also installed there.
On the second day, a huge number of visitors as well as buyers were seen in the fair, he added.
Starting from 9 am the fair would continue till 7 pm each day. All delegates, invited guests and media people are allowed to visit the IPU Fair during the stipulated timeframe.
