Fire burns slum at Tejkunipara

DHAKA, Feb 10, 2017 (BSS) - A devastating fire broke out at a slum in the city's Tejkunipara area this morning.

The fire gutted as many as 45 slum houses of different owners while it was erupted at the railway colony slum at around 9.05 am, said Abdus Samad Azad, operator of the Firefighting Control Room in the city's Nazimuddin Road.

Being informed, a total of seven firefighting units were rushed to the spot and doused the blaze under control at around 10.20 am, said Fire Service & Civil Defense official.

The official, however, said that the fire was originated from an oven in the slum.
