Political leaders and different organizations today mourned the death of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, paying rich tributes to him.
They said Bangalee nation will ever remember the historic support and cooperation of Fidel Castro during the War of Liberation with due respect.
In a condolence message, President Abdul Hamid expressed deep shock at the death of Cuba's former President and leader of the Communist revolution Fidel Castro.
He said the death of Fidel Castro will create a vacuum in the politics of world arena which will never be fulfilled.
In a separate message of condolence, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.
Besides, Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad, Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Begum Raushan Ershad, Information Minister and President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Hasanul Haq Inu, President of Gonoforum Dr Kamal Hossain, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, President of Workers Party of Bangladesh Rashed Khan Menon, President of Communist Party of Bangladesh Mujahidul Islam Selim and general secretary Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed expressed their deep shock at the death of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.
In separate messages of condolence, they said Fidel Castro has won hearts of the people of Bangladesh for extending his support during the War of Liberation.
The Cuban legendary Communist leader died late Friday in Havana, the Cuban capital, his brother, President Raul Castro, announced on national television.
"The commander in chief of the Cuban revolution died at 22:29 hours this evening," the president announced on national television. Fidel Castro was 90.
