Fake Bhutanese Refugee Scam: Pleading for bail or not begins

The pleadings began at District Court, Kathmandu on Sunday whether or not to release on bail the accused ones on the charge of having involvement in fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

Prosecutors from the District Public Prosecutor Office debated in the case today in the single bench of Justice Prem Prasad Neupane.

Chief of District Public Prosecutor's Office, Achyutmani Neupane, is leading the public prosecutors' team.

A total of 18 persons, including former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, were arrested on the charge of sending people abroad in the guise of Bhutanese refugee.

The pleading to request for or not bail will be conducted for all accused ones. The District Public Prosecutor's Office had registered case against 30 accused ones under five different charges.

A total of 12 people accused in the scam are still on the run.
