Dhaka: ESG Institute Bangladesh organized an ESG Bootcamp 2025 with the aim of driving corporate transformation through Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the bootcamp was held at a hotel in Dhaka and gathered top executives, including C-suite executives, senior directors, and departmental heads from various leading multinational organizations in the country. The event was a collaborative effort with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh (UN-GCNB), and Swisscontact Bangladesh, supported by PRAN-RFL Group, ACI Logistics, and Grameen Danone. Participants engaged in discussions on the current and future prospects of ESG and sustainable development in Bangladesh, as noted in a press release.
The event was inaugurated by Shadman Sakib Anik, Executive Director of ESG Institute Bangladesh, with Chowdhury Liaqat Ali, Director of the Sustainable Finance Department at Bangladesh Bank, serving as the chief guest. Other prominent attendees included Kamran Bakr, Founder of Pro-for-Pro and former Chairman of Unilever Bangladesh, Joanne Flinn, Chairperson of ESG Institute Singapore, and Sadia Samira, Chairperson of ESG Institute Bangladesh.
Chowdhury Liaqat Ali stated, “This ESG-centered initiative marks a new chapter for Bangladesh. I firmly believe that by working together, financial and business institutions can pave the way for a more responsible and sustainable future.” Joanne Flinn added, “Bangladesh is now gaining recognition in ESG. With a young population, a strong private sector, and continued policy progress, I’m optimistic that the country will lead sustainable development in Asia.”
The bootcamp is considered a significant step for the corporate sector’s adoption of ESG in Bangladesh, highlighting the country’s ongoing journey towards achieving green, responsible, and global sustainable goals.
