Electricity for all at Ishwardi by Dec: Sharif

PABNA, May 27, 2017 (BSS) - Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif today said electricity will be reached to every house of Ishwardi and Atgharia by December this year.

He said this as chief guest at a function while inaugurating a 108-kilometer long electricity connection line that covers 5,194 clients at 498 spots at Atgharia upazila here. The transmission line has been constructed at a cost Taka 18 crore.

Sharif said that every house of Ishwardi and Atgharia will come under electricity network by December next as part of the commitment of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to ensure electricity for all by 2018.

The minister said electricity is very important for industries, agriculture, business establishments and homes for country's development and moderate electricity consumption in the right way will develop our country.

The minister said the setting up of the train line from Pabna to Dhalarchar and nuclear power plant in Ishwardi is going on in full swing. The government has been working with utmost sincerity to establish industrial and business hub in Pabna and North Bengal, he said.

Later, the land minister inaugurated the newly constructed four- story Atgharia upazila complex and fisheries building and distributed allowances among the elderly people, abandoned women, widows and poor people of the locality.

President of Pabna Chamber of Commerce Abdul Latif Biswas, chairman of Shafiq Group Shafiqul Islam Khan, and Chairman of Salimpur Union Parishad Abdul Majid Bablu Malitha and Senior Vice President of Baraigram Upazila Awami League Fazlur Rahman Mallik addressed the function with Khairul Group of Industries Managing Director Khairul Alam in the chair.
