EDGE project official Jobayer Alam passes away

World Bank and Bangladesh government-funded project Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE)'s skill development specialist Jobayer Alam died of brain hemorrhage at his residence in Tangail at 11pm on Thursday.

He was 43.

Alam is survived by his wife, two brothers, three sisters, relatives, colleagues and a host of admirers and well-wishers, said a press release today.

He will be laid to rest at Tangail central graveyard this afternoon after a namaz-e-janaza, family sources said.

EDGE family expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Alam and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Born on October 1 in 1979, Alam worked with utmost sincerity at different projects and initiatives of the government for the implementation of Digital Bangladesh since 2012 and contributed to creating skilled human resources in information technology sector.

Before joining at EDGE project, Alam worked at Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Programme (previously access to information programme), multinational telecommunication company Ericsson and mobile telecommunications operator Grameenphone.
