The government has due electricity bill of Taka 1435.31 crore with different public, semi-government and private organizations.
Taka 668.427 crore remain dues with different public organizations and Taka 766.883 crore with different semi-government and private organizations, said State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid while responding to a query made by treasury
bench lawmaker M Nazrul Islam Babu of Narayanganj-2 in the House here today.
The defaulted public organizations are Agriculture Ministry, Commerce Ministry, Communication Ministry, Cultural Affairs Ministry, Defense Ministry, Education Ministry, Local Government Division, Forest and Environment Ministry, Election Commission, Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, Finance Division, Finance (IRD), Fisheries Ministry, Food and Disaster Management Ministry, Food and Disaster Management Ministry (Non Bengali Camps), Health and Family Planning, Home Ministry, Housing and Public Works Ministry, Information Ministry, Labour and Employment, Land Ministry, Law, Justice and
Parliamentary Affairs, Local Government and Cooperative Ministry, Liberation War Affairs Ministry, Primary and Mass Education Ministry, Post and Telecommunication Division, Planning Commission, Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry, Religious Affairs Ministry, Bangladesh
Shipping Corporation, Social Welfare Ministry, Youth and Sports Ministry, Women and Child Affairs Ministry, Prime Minister's Office, (PMO), Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, Jute and Textile Ministry, Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), Science , Information and

The highest electricity bill of Taka 95.330 crore remain pending with Housing and Public Works Ministry which is followed by Taka 64.536 crore with Home Affairs Ministry, Taka 57.327 crore with Religious Affairs Ministry, Taka 52.029 crore with Food and Disaster Management
Ministry (Non Bengali Camps) and Taka 46.962 crore with Health and Family Planning Ministry.
