DU student Shaon gets recognition as ‘Youngest Traveler of Bangladesh’

Rifat Jahan Shaon, a third-year student of Theatre and Performance Studies Department of Dhaka University, has been officially recognized as the Youngest Traveler of Bangladesh.

 

He was recognized in a formal ceremony organized by Dhaka University Tourist Society (DUTS) on the occasion of ‘World Tourism Day’ at the Student-Teacher Center (TSC) of the university on Tuesday afternoon.

 

At this time, President of Tourist Society Musfiqur Rahman, former president of Dhaka University Debating Society Mofazzal Hossain Sumon, Dhaka University Research Society Saifullah Sadek Kamrunnahar Munni and Mohiuddin Roni and many others were present

 

Besides, the program was conducted by the founder of English Language Club of Dhaka University Hira Sarkar.

Rifat Jahan Shaon completed his journey to 64 districts of Bangladesh at the age of 19 on the country’s victory day in the year of 2020. Shaon traveled all over Bangladesh with the help of friends and acquaintances, traveling to different districts and upazilas of the country

 

President of Dhaka University Tourist Society Musfiqur Rahman said at the event, “The country’s tourism industry will go far only by promoting tourism.”

 

Mufazzal Hossain Sumon, who has traveled to 67 countries said, “We need to organize our tourism industry in order to present the history, tradition and culture of Bangladesh to global level. By doing this, on the one hand, it will be possible to present our history, tradition, and culture in front of the people of the world as a result our economy will also prosper.”
