Drives against militants to be continued: IGP

MYMENSINGH, Dec 30, 2016 (BSS) - Inspector General of police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque today said drives against the terrorists and militants would be continued until they are wiped out from the society.

Shahidul Islam also said the people of Bangladesh can't tolerate militancy. "They are against militants and terrorists and policemen are trying their best to oust the militants" he added.

He was speaking at the Police Super office in Mymensingh after laying the foundation stone of a new building for the police.

The inspector general urged guardians to conscious over militancy so that children and women are not being attracted by the militants.

He also said the Mymensingh-Valuka Road will come under CCTV cameras surveillance.

Deputy Inspector General of police (Mymensingh Range) Abdullah Al Mamun, Police Super Nurul Islam, secretary of Mymensingh press club Babul Hussein and district Awami League leaders advocate Moazzem Hossein and Ehteshamul Alam were present.
