Dr Wazed worked for immortalizing Bangabandhu’s ideals: AL leaders

RANGPUR- Leaders of Awami League (AL) and its

associate bodies at a memorial discussion here last night said noted nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah worked for immortalizing ideals of Bangabandhu.

The district and city units of AL organised the discussion followed by milad and doa mahfils at district AL office in observance of the eight death anniversary of the nuclear scientist and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's husband Dr M A Wazed Miah.

Presided over by acting president of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, leaders and workers of the party, civil society members and professionals attended the occasions.

General secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, president of city AL Shafiur Rahman Shafi and its General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal, Zila Parishad Chairman Advocate Chhafia Khanom, convener of district Jubo League Sirajum Basher, president of district Chhatra League Mehedee Hasan Rony, addressed, among others.

The speakers termed Bangabandhu's son-in-law Dr Wazed as an incomparable man with excellent human qualities and asked all to follow his ideals in building a middle income nation by 2021 and developed Bangladesh by 2041 to realise Bangabandhu's dream.

Terming him a complete honest and greedless person with noble character, thoughts and beliefs, Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju said Dr Wazed served the nation selflessly with the highest degree of patriotism.

Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed called for inspiring the next generations in spirit of the War of Liberation to make them honest, patriot and courageous citizens for building a Sonar Bangla.

Later, Moulana Moynul Islam conducted milad, doa and special munajats seeking eternal peace of Dr MA Wazed Miah and wellbeing of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Saima Wazed Putul and their other family members.
