Traffic wing of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued some advices for Mirpur-10 to Agargaon route in the capital as different utility service providers like PGCB, WASA, DESA and BTRC are relocating their underground installations from the east side of this road.
"Non-motorized vehicles like rickshaw and rickshaw-van are being discouraged to come on to Begum Rokeya Sarani from the surrounding alleys. Pedestrians are being requested to use the foot-over bridge for crossing the road. Owners and drivers of vehicles are being urged to avoid parking beside the road, while business owners are being requested to avoid loading and unloading of goods on vehicles in daytime," a DMP release said.
It also called upon the bus drivers not to stop their vehicles and take in passengers anywhere but the designated stoppages.
DMP requested the city dwellers to follow the advices to help ease the traffic gridlock marking the construction work of metro rail line (MRT Line-6) through this four kilometer long road spanning from Mirpur-10 to Agargaon.
