DMP commissioner orders ensuring maximum security during Durga Puja

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam today ordered all units of the DMP to be on maximum alert so that the upcoming Durga Puja, biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, can be celebrated in a safe and peaceful environment.

 

The DMP commissioner came up with the directives while addressing the crime review meeting for the month of August at the DMP headquarters.

 

Saying that Ansar personnel will remain at the puja mandaps throughout the festival this year, he also ordered police to perform their responsibilities well during Durga Puja.

 

About political programmes, the DMP Commissioner said that if a political program is carried out peacefully, police will not prevent it, but strict legal action will be taken against those who commit arson attacks in the name of politics.

 

He also asked to keep an eye on processions and marches so that no loss of life occurs.

 

At the beginning of the monthly crime review meeting, category-wise total picture of crimes in the month of August was reviewed.

 

The DMP Commissioner gave various important directions to all concerned to maintain law and order and keep the crime situation under control.

 

In the meeting, the DMP Commissioner awarded the best police officers in recognition of their good work in maintaining law and order and public safety in Dhaka city.
