The government in consultation with the Supreme Court today dismissed former district and sessions judge SM Aminul Islam for "inefficiency, misconduct and corruption".
"He has been dismissed from service as par rule 4 (3) (d) of Public Servants (Dismissal on Conviction) Ordinance, 1985," an official release said.
It said Islam, a former judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal in Comila, was attached to the law ministry as the charges against him were being investigated.
The law ministry earlier lodged a departmental case against him under rule 3 (a), 3 (b) and 3 (d) of Public Servants (Dismissal on Conviction) Ordinance, 1985.
"The allegations of inefficiency, misconduct and corruption were proved after scrutinizing his written reply, his statements, investigation report and other relevant documents," the release added.
