RAJSHAHI Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni today urged all
concerned particularly the teachers to ensure quality education terming it as
the first and foremost demand of the nation.
The issue of quality education should be attached with utmost importance,
teachers and other stakeholders must play proactive roles with sincerity and
honesty to this end, the minister said this while addressing the opening
ceremony on education related workshop here today as chief guest.
National University (NU) organized the workshop styled Education
Improvement in 13 Century-old Colleges at Rajshahi College where principals
of all 13 century-old colleges of the country attended.
Senior Secretary to the Secondary and Higher Education Division , Sohrab
Hossain addressed the workshop as special guest while NU Vice-Chancellor Prof
Harun-Or-Rashid was in the chair.

Golam Faruque and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of NU Prof Hafiz Hassan Babu also
In response to a set of recommendations for further improvement of the
country's ancient and glorified colleges , placed before the minister Dipu
Moni assured her all-possible cooperation of resolving existing problems
being faced by the colleges for more quality education .
She urged the college principals to admit students within their respective
seat capacity saying admission of the additional students beyond limit would
impede quality education.
The education minister urged the principals to uphold the heritage and
tradition of the country's ancient colleges through their heartfelt efforts.
The colleges are: Rajshahi College, Chottoram Government College, Chottogram
Hazi Muhammad Mohsin College, Norail Victoria College, Barishal Brojomohan
College, Sylhet Murali Chand College, Pabna Edward College, Comilla Victoria
College, Khulna Brojo Lal College, Mymensingh Ananda Mohan College, Rangpur
Carmaikel College, Bagerhat Profullah Chandra College and Faridpur Razendra
