DHAKA, The 'Digital Bangladesh Day' was observed through holding various programmes aiming to educate the people on ICTbased services to build a technologically advanced country.
The theme of the day is 'Digital Bangladesh will be Bangabandhu's Sonar Bangla'.
Earlier, the government took a decision at the November 27 cabinet meeting to observe December 12 as the national Information and Communication Technology (ICT) day.
The government, however, issued a notification on December 6 saying that from this year, December 12 will be observed as the 'Digital Bangladesh Day' instead of the National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Day.
Marking the day, ICT Division has chalked out daylong elaborate programmes.
The programmes also included giving citations to the Digital Bangladesh Award winners, RoboWar and puzzle game shows, discussions, seminar, nationwide online essay competition and prize giving ceremony at BICC while essay and painting competition will be held at upazila and districts levels across the country.
A seminar titled 'Sonar Bangla and Digital Bangladesh' was held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC). ICT Division organized the seminar.
