Dhaka will be made more livable: Mosharraf

DHAKA, March 22, 2017 (BSS)- LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain today said Dhaka city would be made more livable through implementation of Detailed Area Plan (DAP).

"Natural water bodies of Dhaka city would be preserved at any cost," he said at the 11th cabinet committee meeting to review the DAP at the Local Government Division (LGD) auditorium here, said an official release here.

Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif, Senior Secretary of Water Resources Ministry Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan, Secretary of LGD Abdul Malek, Secretary of House and Public Works Minister Md Shahid Ullah Khandaker, Secretary of Environment and Forests Ministry Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed, among others, were present.

Khandaker Mosharraf said the government has a plan to dig at least one pond at every village.
